Supt. Robert R. Ellis, Sr.

Senior Pastor

Superintendent Robert Rogers Ellis, Sr. serves as the senior pastor for Bibleway Church. 

 

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he is the eldest son of (the late) Mrs. Sedonia Ellis Thomas. He attended public school in the Jefferson Parish School District. Graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1968.


A student of Southern University in New Orleans, and University of Maryland, He earned an Associates Degree in General Studies, from Central Texas College. He is a graduate of Mary Hardin Baylor, with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Minor in Psychology. After serving twenty years in the United States Army, he retired and remained in Texas. He later became a resident of Killeen, Texas and a community leader, pastor and friend to all who meets him.


Superintendent Ellis is a church organizer and he has served his church organization in various capacities. In 1975, he established the House of Prayer Church of God in Christ in Leesville, Louisiana.  In November 1977, he was appointed as Coordinator of the Churches of God in Christ in West Germany. He organized the Ayers Chapel Church of God in Christ, Butzbach, West Germany in 1977.


He has pastored the Ayers Chapel Church of God in Christ in Ansbach, West Germany. He is the founding pastor of the Bibleway Church of God in Christ; organized in December 1982. He was appointed Jurisdictional Chaplain in July 1991 and Superintendent of the Killeen District, Texas Southwest Jurisdiction in February 1992. On January 3, 1998 he was appointed Superintendent of the Greater Temple District, under the leadership of Bishop Samuel E. Iglehart.


He was appointed Superintendent of the T.D. Iglehart Memorial District on July 2004, a distinct honor and privilege. He was appointed Dean of Education Texas Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Education Commission on October 3, 2004. He serves as Secretary of the Superintendent’s Board Texas Southwest, and Vice Chairman of the Ordination Board.


He is the father of Sonya, Robin, Robert Jr., Glennis, and Reginald and is PawPaw to eleven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren

 

Pastor Rob Ellis, Jr.

Lead Pastor

Pastor Rob has traveled across the world preaching and teaching the masses about the love of Jesus Christ. 


He grew up in Bibleway and began working in music ministry at the age of twelve when he assumed the role of Minister of Music.  In 1992 Minister Ellis relocated to Dallas Texas, where he accepted his call to preach in 1994 while on staff at Power Church.  During this period, Minister Ellis was blessed to write and record with the Dallas Fort Worth Mass Choir.  Since then he has traveled throughout the United States with some of gospel music’s premiere artists and choirs.  He has been blessed with the opportunity to write, produce and or perform with gospel music greats such as, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Byron Cage, Donnie McClurkin, Richard Smallwood, Marvin Sapp, Vanessa Bell-Armstong, Nancy Harmon, Earnest Pugh and many others.  He continues to be a Much Sought-After Musician, Producer And Clinician.  


Pastor Rob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Music from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in May of 2004. 


Prior to serving as Lead Pastor at Bibleway, he planted Dominion Community Church and served as Associate Pastor, Worship Pastor at several different churches across the nation.


His two loves are his daughters, Sarah & Jessica.
